The Word Salad program has been running since July 2017. Word Salad’s weekly salons bring together the local community and offer a space where everyone can perform, enjoy and indulge in lively literary events.

The Philanthropy Tribe Café, 151 Crown St, Wollongong in the Mall. Snacks, cakes and coffee available.
How Much Does It Cost?
Free for members of the South Coast Writers Centre, $5 for non-members. Membership application forms available on the night.
When Does It Meet?
Every Wednesday night from February to the end of November, 6pm for a 6.30pm start to 8pm.
The first Wednesday of the month is Performance Night, with a guest Featured Reader. After a break, those who enjoy performing their own work – whether poetry, music, drama or prose – can take the stage at the open mic, with a 3 minute limit. The evening is facilitated by local poet and author, Garry McDougall.
On the second Wednesday, aficionados of poetry can join An Evening of Reading and Enjoying Poetry with local poet and publisher Ron Pretty. Each month, works by a particular poet is presented to read and discuss.
The third Wednesday is Big Book Club with Lynne Cook and Judi Morison. Selected books are discussed. Come along, whether you have read the book or not.
On the fourth Wednesday, Literary Hotspot serves up a feast of book launches, author talks and special guest events. Check Word Salad’s Facebook page for details.
