Creative Writing Workshop 1: Introduction to Writing
The South Coast Writers Centre in partnership with Wollongong Library, are proud to present the first in a four part series of creative writing workshops - Introduction to Writing with facilitator Linda Godfrey.
By the end of this hands-on three-hour class, participants will have a series of short pieces of writing that you can combine, later in your own time, into a short story, a prose poem or even a poem if you choose. We will explore setting and create one character and then introduce some action. We will practice some workshopping to introduce you to editing your own work and give positive feedback to others. During the class, as questions arise, we can discuss some formal points of writing that will enable you to produce more dynamic, detailed and individual writing.
Bring paper, a pen you are comfortable using and the willingness to write long hand on paper.
