What do you get when you mix a desire for creativity with a crammed schedule? Probably not a lot, since so many of us are too busy for bookclubs and workshops. Fortunately, there’s a poetry workshop series with flexibility for your hectic schedule, which you can even do in your pjs!

The South Coast Writers Centre presents a 10-week poetry workshop course that will be run exclusively online from mid-June to mid-August. Every Monday, participants will email a poem to workshop facilitator Ron Pretty and all other participants. In the following week, members of the group are invited to respond to everyone’s poems.

As a matter of course, Ron will respond to all participants by the end of the week. The program is designed to improve participants’ writing by showing how Ron and other members respond to their poems, and to develop their critical skills through responding to other members’ poems.

Ron Pretty has been writing for over forty years, and has published eight full poetry collections. He has taught writing to participants in schools, universities and community groups. His most recent book of poetry, The Left Hand Mirror, was published in 2017.

Now, you can write to the beat of your own creativity, and find out what works best for you—all while refining your craft with one of the most accomplished Australian poets out there. Sign up to be a part of this friendly, encouraging environment, and get to where you need to be.

If you’d like to grab this chance at achieving creative development in your own time, please contact the Centre for more information on 4228 0151 or at
