(Gala) Dinner Time!

That’s right, folks! Step right up and get your tickets to the very first, inaugural, maiden, original recipe South Coast Writers Centre Gala Dinner! We’re bringing you a fabulous night of great food and entertainment, all in order to raise money for the Centre. So dust off your Sunday best and come join us at The Postman’s Quarter in Thirroul on the 1st of December (it’s a Thursday… not a Sunday).

We’ll have comedian Harry Laing (I hope he does his Abbott bit) and performer Gabe Journey Jones providing the night’s entertainment, as well as Garry McDougall as MC. Feel free to call him by his hip-hop name, M.C. Dougall. I’m sure he won’t mind. There’ll also be plenty of local writers there too, so it’s a great chance to mingle with literature folk.

We’ll also be holding our raffle on the night, as well as our silent auction for a 1-year Arts Law membership and contract template (valued at $500). The raffle itself also has over $2,000 worth of prizes, so be sure to stop by the office, or give us a call, to buy your tickets. We’ll also be selling tickets on the night of the event, so there’s no excuse not to have one! I, myself, have three.

Now, as the whole affair is about a month away, I can’t share with you any menu specifics, but I can give you our most sincere assurance, and the SCWC’s time-honoured promise, that this two course dinner will be – like everything produced at the Centre – finger lickin’ good. Also, as a progressive organisation that likes to keep abreast of modern tastes and preferences, we’ve assured that there will be gluten-free and vegetarian options for those who are so inclined.

So here’s to you, kind patron. We hope you’ll join us for what’s sure to be a great night, with great people, and great food.

Tickets are $65.

Visit our events page for bookings and more information.

Until next time,

Martin Veres
