July at SCWC

by Yvette Gilfillan

Christmas in July for writers means stretching out on the couch by the fireplace and reading the latest novels, then escaping into book cafés, warming your hands with strong coffee and collaborative workshops. After that, it’s a hearty roast dinner listening to the many author talks on the SCWC table, finishing up with a cheeky wine—but let’s be honest, that can be enjoyed any time of year!

Whether you’re a part of the PCA or not (Premature Christmas Anonymous—yes, I know you’re out there) come to one of our events instead of your next meeting. We promise you’ll have way more fun … but we can’t promise it won’t be addictive.

Sunday 1st of July:

‘How to Write a Romance Novella’ with Catherine Evans

12 pm – 3 pm, Shellharbour City Libraries

Our first official collaboration with Shellharbour City Libraries has resulted in a dynamite workshop, led by rural romance and erotica author Catherine Evans.

Catherine will be talking about character, plot and setting in romance writing, and she will give you a chance to write your own opening scene, combining industry advice with hands-on experience.

$20

There are still tickets available, so be quick! Get them here.
